Tiny worlds
stitched by hand,
held in clear acrylic.

I'm Teresita, an Argentinian artist making hand-embroidered miniatures and acrylic-box paintings. Each piece is sewn one thread at a time, then suspended inside a transparent box so you can walk around it.

Selected work

Pieces from the studio

Each work is one-of-a-kind. Embroidered miniatures: figures, garments, small talismans, mounted on gold leaf and floated inside a handmade clear acrylic box. No two are the same size, and no two are ever repeated.

Process

Slow work,
in small rooms.

Each piece begins with a thread and a drawing. The miniatures are embroidered by hand on cotton or silk, sometimes barely two centimeters across. Once finished, they're mounted on gold-leafed panels and sealed inside a custom-cut acrylic box.

Nothing is printed. Nothing is batched. A single work takes between two weeks and three months to finish.

Statement

Teresita Castelli

My work begins with a needle, a thread, and a memory that may or may not have happened.

I embroider miniature worlds, small scenes suspended between what I remember and what I imagine. Each piece is hand-stitched, built slowly, detail by detail, carrying the quiet weight of intimate time.

The acrylic dome that holds each work is not merely a frame. It has physical presence: weight, dimension, yet reads as light and transparent. It draws a real boundary around what lives inside, preserving these worlds intact, sheltered from dust and from forgetting.

I make things that ask to be looked at closely. Things that feel private, almost secret, as if you've stumbled upon something not meant for everyone.

Tell me about the place it will live, the story you want held inside it, and the size. I'll propose a palette and a concept, and we go from there.

Petite · 20 × 20 cm

A piece the size of your palm

A single embroidered miniature, floated inside a small acrylic box. For the bedside table, the intimate corner, the gift that says something words can't. Two to four weeks from first conversation to delivery.

Jardín · 45 × 65 cm

A garden of nine figures

Nine hand-embroidered miniatures arranged across a gold-leaf field. A world you can spend time in — each figure a character, each placement a choice. Six to ten weeks, because a garden cannot be rushed.

Signature · 65 × 75 cm

A constellation of twelve

The studio's most-requested format. Room for twelve figures across a gold-leaf field — a constellation, a family, a memory held open. Eight to twelve weeks from first sketch to finished work.
